We lived just north of Delisle. Mr. Swanier was our Principal at Pass Christian High. Delisle was and still is made up of a lot of families. My mom was a Necaise and my Grandmother, a Moran. We now live 6 miles north of Delisle. Other then the new school; thanks to Hurricane Katrina and new businesses there, the area is still the same.

My Aunt Florence Dedeaux and the picture is of my cousin Ms Amelia and her great grand son. My Aunt would love to tell of how Delisle used to be when she was a child and later as a young woman, often speaking of our "white" relatives. The town of Delisle is truly a place filled with what I call "gumbo" people (gumbo meaning mixture). Adrian Swanier, was my first cousin and Florence Dedeaux's nephew. I have only fond memories of them all.

I remember the Swaniers before Camille hit the Pass back in 69. I lived on North street, I attended Randolph at that time. I moved North after Camille. The article was excellent. Ma parrain est Swanier!
